The Spine Center and Scoliosis Center at Shonan Fujisawa Tokushukai Hospital opened in July 2004. It is the group's first center dedicated to the treatment of spine surgery. The goal is to provide advanced spine surgery for an ever-increasing number of spinal conditions.
In order to provide highly accurate treatment, we perform computer-assisted spine surgery (navigational spine surgery), spinal function monitoring surgery, small incision surgery for scoliosis, scoliosis surgery using a correction box (custom-made surgical table for scoliosis correction), and microsurgery to enhance surgical safety. With the relocation of the hospital in 2012, in addition to the existing facilities, we have introduced an even wider range of medical equipment, including the world's first computer-assisted surgery system using with “ARTIS zeego”, so called “Spine Hybrid OR”.
In February 2019, we introduced ARTIS pheno, a new generation system based on ARTIS zeego with various improvements, and the data from ARTIS pheno is sent to the new curve navigation system higher-end specifications spinal navigation surgery. The data from ARTIS pheno is sent to the new curve navigation system. Furthermore, based on this spine navigation system, we started robotic spine surgery (screw insertion support with robotic arm guidance) on April 1, 2021.
We will continue to strive to provide even more advanced and safe spine surgery.
